I built this approach because I have lived on both sides of the work.
Early in my career at Nordstrom I helped launch complex systems for large teams. I learned quickly that success did not depend on the tools themselves. It depended on whether people actually understood what to do. When work is confusing questions pile up and decisions get pushed to the top. Leaders stay stuck in the middle far longer than they want to.
Later running my own brick and mortar business I saw the same pattern. When expectations were not clear everything came back to me. Even capable people hesitated because the work was not clear enough to move on its own.
The fix was never more software. It was making the work understandable.
I learned how to make work clear enough that people could act without guessing, and simple enough that the instructions didn’t live in my head.
That shift changed everything.
Fewer interruptions. Less follow-up. Space to step back.
That’s the work I do now.
